What about tomorrow?

Today, Im going to be taking on a bit more serious topic. I’m writing as I’m currently travelling towards Copenhagen Airport for my next destination, as the morning sunlight is reflecting through the landscape next to me. Yesterday I had a lovely day with my family, celebrating my older brother’s birthday. But as we were gathered together, we did get some terrible news. A family member had been hit by a car on a main road and is now hospitalised, connected to a respirator. We don’t know if he’s going to make it or not.

In general the last few years there’s been quite a few accidents or sudden deaths in our family. Its very scary and hard to realise what is going on. One minute a person you cherish and love is there, and the next they’re not. And you never now when that might happen. There’s really no one of us who know whether we’ll still be here tomorrow or not. That goes for anyone.

So I guess what Im trying to get through with this, is that you’ve only got one life. And you don’t know how long or short its going to be, so you must make the best out of the time you’ve got. Live life, in the moment. Whether your working a 9 to 5 job, studying, staying at home or travelling the world, make the best out of what you got. Or if you’re not happy, do something else! Do what you’re passionate about, what sets your soul on fire, what gives you a purpose, what makes you happy. I truly believe you have to make daily decisions for your life to have a happy life, and what is a life worth if we’re not really happy?

I now its something that today’s generation has a really hard time with. Being happy. Its kind of become a taboo, something only weirdos or very optimistic people declare. But its more simple than that. Its about living your life to the fullest and appreciating what you’ve got. Im not saying “live everyday like its your last” cause thats impossible to do every single day. But sometimes, just remind yourself; you don’t know if you or your loved ones will wake up tomorrow. How do you feel about that? Are there something you’d like to change? Something you’d like to say, do or try? DO IT! Even if you do live a long life, make sure you won’t wake up one morning, filled with regrets. I know changing your way of life can be so, so challenging, but oh I can promise you it will be worth it.

Life is like a roller coaster. It goes up and down, round, straight ahead, it has a beginning and it has an end. We can always replace items, but we can never replace the people that matters the most to us.

So from today’s post Id just like to challenge you for something: live the life you want to live. If there’s something in your life you’re sick of, get rid of it. And live more consciously each day. Quite sleepwalking through life. Its something you should experience cause it has so much to offer.
